It was a fast start for me in PA. Last saturday on the opener, I called in one mature tom, and a jake...missed the gobbler[:@] Since then, I haven't heard a peep when going out to roost them. Can't hunt much during the week due to work, but I'll be back at it come this saturday.

My score for this turkey season is a big ZERO. Never even heard a gobble, unless you count the birds behind my house.
Maybe next year.

My season does not even start for another 10 days. Drew a 5th season tag in Illinois. Taking my girlfriend on her first longbeard hunt. Hoping she will at least hear a gobble or see a bird. Tried out our blind for two. A little snug but she's tiny. Looking forward. Scheduled some work over by the property,90 minutes away, so I can at least scout once. She has been practicing her broadheads for 3 weeks.

Hey Sarah,

Good to see you post again, and I'm sorry to hear about you and Don. My season went good, my first day out I saw a single hen but heard a good bit of gobbling from one bird. My second day out I heard atleast five different birds, and I was able to call in a hen with some aggressive cutting and fighting purrs. Luckily she brought in this guy..

Good to hear from you Sarah, hopefully you will stick around.

Had a good opener in PA last weekend, put down my largest ever (25lbs) and I have a 3 day weekend this weekend to call for a few buddies and hopefully help them tag one too.

The birds have won the first battles, but the war isn’t over.
I’m 0-1 with my longbow on a strutting longbeard at 12/13 yds.
I’m also 0-1 on a tough snapshot at a fleeing tom with the shotgun.

Despite the misses, I am having a good season, in 3 hunts I’ve called gobblers in each time. Hoping to seal the deal this weekend.

Matt, that is a huge bird. Congrats

Good to see you back on here Sarah. I'm trying to rival Hunsucker this year on turkey killing. I think I have him on percentages, but he's got me on birds. He is a turkey killing machine. I've been on 5 (4 filming, 1 hunting)hunts and we've killed birds on 4 of them.

So I've been having a pretty ridiculous season. Here are some pics:

Kylee and her first turkey:

Karl and his first of the year (he's gotten 2 in NJ, 1 in PA and missed 1 in PA):

Little Jack and his first bird:
