It's funny that you would ask because everytime that we drive past a cow in the field I always say that I would love to shoot one with my bow just to see what it would do.
It would die, I hope I did not ruin it for you:D

I think cow hunting is silly. It is just killing to kill.

Well I dont really know if it is ethical in the minds of most Beef Eaters aka people sitting from the cheap seats. But I dont know that I would shoot a cow just to shoot a cow. I will say that I really do not know how they are butchered though. Can anyone enlighten?
Small time farmer butchering beef by themself is going to use a .22 Hornet or Magnum between the eyes. A slaughterhouse uses a pneumatic bar to pierce the brain, resulting in an instant death.

Definitely not for me. As far as driving by fields and thinking about shooting cows, I can't say I get the urge to shoot just to be killing a "domesticated" animal.

I could shoot one, The first one or two would likely be easy the rest would soon wise up and be just like hunting buffalo

I don't think they would be as prone to spotting you as say a giraffe. But far More dangerous thou.

THe smalltown locker we bought our beef from had an old .22 right next to the gate. Clamp 'em in and crack.

I don't think I'd jump at that chance though, dragging a 800 lb cow to the truck? No way.

Of course if one was messing with my turkey decoys....

it depends on whether we could paint one of like a giraffe before hand - would add a little more challange to it then
