You are not bursting my bubble in the least. I stated earlier in this thread that a forum that provided information similiar to your link(the e-mail alerts) would be great. Because as it is now many of us think of things locally/regionally so if there is nothing threatening "my" hunting then there must be nothing wrong. Now if I believed that then yes I would be naive, I don't believe that and I appreciate the link you posted and will use it. There is one thing that does worry me about the anti movementand thatis the fact that they are very organized. I think we as hunters could greatly improve in that aspect as well as recruiting people from the middle ground. I take new people hunting every season and not just kids I take people from work, church, softball anyone who expresses an interest. The sad thing is most of the other hunters I know never bring anyone(maybe a random family member) but noone is out recruiting, I think that is one of the most important things we could be doing, especially from the "middle ground" people. Sorry, that's probably enough hijacking from me.

That's it, I started this thread cuz I was bored......and I have nothing to do....now, back to what the thread was really posted for. I posted in hopes of learning why someone would shoot a giraffe, and i found out that people do it for a number of reasons. 1. out the compassion of their heart to help feed a village..2. trophy hunt 3. population control. 4. help the African economy. 5. to combat poaching.. that's it, that's what i came up with, and that's fine, I got my answers, now I have a better outlook on it. Fine, shoot a giraffe, never said you shouldn't, just asked why.

I could give less than 1/2 a crap what an anti thinks, I will not live in fear of them or worry about them. You can if you want to, I just won't do it. We are in the right and all of the stats, facts, information, etc back us up, besides that are numbers are greater.

Hate to burst your bubblebro, but this isnothing but naive...[/blockquote]

LOL Hey, he already told me he wasn't naive, apparently he didn't convince you of that either LOL .

Brucewhat youquoted above is how I feel aboutantis logic on the topic of huntingin no way am I suggesting that I don't care about protecting hunting nor am I naive about their resolve. I do everything I can to teach new people every season and introduce them to hunting. My kids, the neighbors kids, boy scout troops, guys at work or church or anywhere that have never really been exposed to hunting or had a chance to go, they can go with me.Charity donations from our club within the community, fun days/shoots to raise funds for CHKD and lots of other things within the community to win the middle ground(cookouts, work days/litter clean up, donating meat).I am doing what I think will help us as hunters and I'm sure there is more that can be done I just don't see a ton of people doing the same thing (here anyway) and IMO we need that very much. They are probably blabbering away onthe internetsomewhere about how to stop the antis.

Ah nevermind... man these posts get me axle wrapped! Insert "deer" wherever "giraffe" was in the original post and it sounds like it came right off of a PETA forum rather than HuntingNet...
