RE: Tred Barta question

If he is not the epitomy of pride and selfish attitudes, I'll pay for it. (At least on his "Show" anyway. Have no idea how he might be outside of an "actor's role".

By the way Jeff, I have a hard time seperating a man and his method if his method has made him what he is. Lol

(Oh my, did I do a double post on this?)

RE: Tred Barta question

My father shot a recurve for most of his life. Killed most of his big game animals that way. Now he shoots a compound. I guess he isn't doing it the hard way anymore. Of course he was a great shot though because he practiced all the time which needs to be done when you shoot traditional. If Tred does practice and still shoots like he does on his shows the guy isn't a very good shot. He doesn't offend me at all. I don't think he is good for our sport though.

I think there are more people offended and threatened by his assertion than let on.;)
Jeff, let me ask you, do you like arrogrant braggards? Or would you rather watch or hang out with a down to earth guy.

BHF.....really...of all people I think you might understand how the more one delves into traditional shooting ......the more respect one might have for someone who chooses that route.

I've got a LOT more respect for his style (not the man) than I did 6 months ago. Hence my question, today.
Thats fair, then why bring the man into the thread, why not just the style?? I respect everyone thats gets enjoyment out of their hunting, not matter their style, the weapon or the quarry their after!

I'll tell you the same thing I told MOTOWN the other day.....the difference is in the work/time it took to BECOME "proficient".....and the same effort it takes to remain that way.

I watched a Real tree road trips where Michael Waddell bow was lost on the plane. He picked up the land owners recurve shot some practice with it (good groups) and then killed a deer that night. Something tells me he doesn't practice witha recurve that much he might even have stated that on the show.

To me it's sorta like the guy sitting down the bar telling everyone how good he is. Is it something to get offended or threatend by? Nope, it's more like you give them a shake of your head and say to yourself whatever Dude.

BC....this has nothing to do with the question. I'd like him more (which isn't a stretch.....being as where we're starting;)) if he was more down to earth.

Do I have a problem with his statement, though?

Nope.

I saw this one, too. Remember the shot he took before the kill shot?......the one that went 4 ft. over the doe's back?:D What was your point?

I do think this thread has gone 8 pages faster than any thread has ever gone before. Its not even lunch time yet people.

If anything.. Tred Barta should feel pure flattery by this fast paced thread.

I thank those of you who have taken this thread to this height.. without you.. I would have work to do. Instead I read along.. with the poetic rhymes within.. and the slow gait of a tumblin' tumbleweed.
