Interesting answer BigJ71. I can see where you are coming from. Kinda.[8D]

Like I said, I pretty much know what I'm willing to shoot at well before I start my hunt. Then I let the animal and my mood at the time he presents himself "fine tune" my decision of whether to shoot or not.
Now I must admit, one time while hunting, I had made the decision to shoot the first "decent" deer I saw. After about two hours into the hunt I spotted a slammer about 100 yards away. My "criteria" changed PDQ after that and for the rest of the season when I hunted that spot I was after that big dude. In fact I actually passed on a pretty decent buck (120-130) because I had changed my mind about that area.
It's not like I didn't know there were big bucks in there to begin with, I did. I just didn't care if Ikilled one or not. In factI never did see him (or any other slammer) again for the rest of the season. I had chances to kill other decent deer on that property but that's not what I was after.
I did kill a decent buck ondifferent piece of property that year but my other buck tag went unfilled.

That would be almost 20" more antler than I've ever had a shot at.....so yeah. I'd take the shot with no hesitation.
I can film the rest of the season for whomever.
