On public lands in Florida if you have 1 hunter per 10 acres you are doing good for gunseason. I have actually been on top of a stand looking out on a field about 150 to maybe 200 yards in radius. I counted 29 huntersin and around that one little piece of field. Could you imagine the poor 1 1/2 year old deer that dared trying to cross it. I was actually afraid one would show up because it would sound like an old army battle scene. I went and got a lease. Wanna know what leases cost near St. Petersburg Florida? I have not found one for less than 4,000 dollars a year. It was 2600 acres. It was full when I called. They will take 180 hunters. Comes to about 15 acres per person. What I find amazing is that you guys talk about thousands of acres for just a couple of guys.

p.s. If anyone would PLEASE prove me wrong and show me a lease for less that is close to Tampa bay you would not hurt my feelings. But send it in a p.m. because it will get jumped on like a crazed squirrel.

BIL and I have a little over 300 acres leased/owned and three at most on the land. On most of the adjacent land we know everyone, have good relations with them, and other than the opening weekend of gun deer season, there wouldn't be over four or five hunting adjacent to us.
