Guy that runs/owns btreviews.com a proboards site told me. He's in the pokipsie area. No idea ifI spelled that right.

Could you list the areas you know this is occuring in?
Steve
The state in order to control deer sends out sharp shooters and dumps the deer in the land fill
Steve
I strongly doubt that this statement is true. I have never heard of this being done. Oh it's spelled Poughkeepsie, not an easy one to spell.

I pressed the guy on it and he's not one to make a story like this up. It was a couple years ago but you don't forget a statement like this. I think it was in an urban area.

I live about an hour away from poughkeepsie and I havn't heard of sharpshooters being used to control deer numbers in that area.Farmers can be issued nuisance permits, maybe that is what is going on.
A 3.5 yearold buck in our area is still a rarity even with AR protection.I would be curious to see what there survey data was.As I mentioned the other day the buck take in 3C was less than one per square mile, that is an AR area,I believe 3J is above 2 bucks per square mile. Most of my hunting is in 3A and 3C although I intend to expand my horizons a bit.

I BELIEVE I saw a video of deer being shot by sharpshooters somewhere, and I believe it was New York. There was some controversy over it.I can't remember exactly what it was now.
Maybe someone can step in and let the specualtion end and facts be known.
I have no problem with antler restrictions as long as they are kept on wma's and all is being done to let the hunters properly controll the population.
