Last I knew Hoyt wouldn't sell through places like Cabelas or Gander Mountain, that is why Reflex was added to their line, basically a cheaper Hoyt but one that would be sold through these distributors. Years ago some companies bought quantities of Hoyt's and then offered them through their catalogs. Hoyt then said they wouldn't honor warrenties on any bows bought anywhere other then a pro shop. Is this what the original ? was about?

Gander Mountain in Muncy, PA sells Hoyt bows. Though I wonder how many they actually sell. They have them for sale for suggested retail prices, not $1.00 less! Lucky for me there is a really nice pro-shop that is a Hoyt dealer 1 1/2 miles from Gander Mountain who has much better service and prices.

There is a Gander Mountain in Crown Point Indiana (30- miles or so southeast of Chicago) that I had a chance to visit will up seeing family last summer. They stocked Hoyt, it was the first time I actually saw them in person. You could pick bows up there but they had nylon lock straps on them to prevent people from drawing them. I think they had some models set up for demo too but I didn't take the time to shoot one.
I brought the change in Hoyts warranty to the attention of the guy running the shop here and now they are stocking a couple of different models. Before, he said they didn't keep Hoyts on the rack because he wasn't satisfied with the warranty they offered.
I finally got to shoot one of them babys a couple of weeks ago. It was a Magna Tech ZR200 VersaCam. I'd say there isn't much doubt Hoyt makes a good piece of equipment, and that's just from a first impression of about 20 arrows.
Dusty9, welcome to possibly the best forum on the face of the planet<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>. Just some friendly advice if I may. Try to be a little more polite, maybe reread your post and consider how your coming across if you don't mind me saying so. You won't find any bigger of a Hoyt fanatic then the honorable PABowhntr or anyone anymore helpful.

I didn't pay attention to prices but I just read Tribal's. The shop I'm familiar with usually blows retail price on bows out of the water. They've had a customer come there from about 250 or 300 miles to the north who shopped around for his best price.

Geez, what did I miss?

I was honestly and sincerely asking if Cabelas sold Hoyt bows in their retail stores. I knew they didn't sell them through their mail order catalogs

The Gander Mountain in Peoria, IL also sells Hoyt. Their prices for the bare bow are comparable to the local shops I checked out, but by the time you add up all the setup fees that charge, you're better off at the pro shop.
