So you're saying the blades "slide" along the hide before entering?
Which brings me back to this, then. OR, the hide simply explodes when that awesome fantastic BH hits it...

The Snypers have a 1.5" cutting diameter but the entrance holes I've had are usually 3" to 4" holes and the exit are usually 2" to 3".
Ok, I've heard statements such as these before. How can that be possible? I mean.....If the blades, fully deployed, are 2" wide.....How can it cut a 4" wide slice??
mo, the blades open wider than 2" and then fold back into their 2" locked position. When the blades are opening, they are much bigger than 2", probably 3" and then fold back as well as what Greg said.

Can't explain it, just the facts on all the ones I've taken, 3" 4" holes on a 1.5" 2 blade broadheads. And for the record, the shot was lower and more forward than I would have liked but a dead deer in 50 yards. [8D]

This was from a 1.5" Snyper.

Ok, so somebody w/ a 2 blade Rage, open those blades so they are sticking straight out, and measure the length......I only have a 3 blade, or I would.

Look at it this way Don....(and calm down.....it makes PERFECT sense).......

Go get an arrow (BH tipped)and shoot it through a sheet of paper shooting straight-on(Paper tuning). Now.....shoot it at a 45deg angle. Which hole is bigger?

I don't think they're (Rage) bigger than 2" at any time.

Um, I am calm. Honestly. I'm really trying to grasp this because I really don't get it. So then, if the above is true, and I'm sure it is....Wouldn't the same hold true for a fixed blade head? If it's got a 1" cutting diameter, couldn't it be a 2" entrance hole?

I know my Snypers when they deploy and are straight are wider than 1.5" so Rage has to be. Don't know, never used Rage but I know my Snypers.

Okay, for mobow, I took pictures of my 1.5" Snypers.

As they open they snap out to nearly 2.5" and then fold back to 1.5".

Rage, working this exact same way must open to nearly 3" before locking back into their 2" position.

Ok, completely objective question here, I have no reason to care what anyone shoots, simply put, I like Muzzy, I think Muzzy are the best BH ever made... for me that is... the question...

isn't the wide blade 2" or better a little more difficult to achieve penetration unless you have very good KE?? I seriously have no clue here, I read this, and heard it from a pro shop, so, what is the deal with the wider cutting dia? I was even told that the Muzzy MX head was to wide...

Most of todays bows have no issue reaching these KE's and the Snyper/Rage I believe take less KE than the jackknife type mechanicals that open through impact, Snypers/Rage open immediately.
