I'm gonna ask ya'll a question. Why, in the HELL, do these ALWAYS have to turn into the proverbial "I'm right, and you're wrong, and oh yeah, your momma is ugly, your daddy is fat, and the only reason you post what you do is because you either HAVE to, or have some motive?"

This is absolutely NO different than the heavy/slow light/fast debate. Does scentlok work or not? My bow is better, yours is inferior, my wife is prettier and my right hand is bigger. Every damn time someone disagrees in here it gets personal, and don't tell me this bickering in this thread isn't personal. It's gone beyond stating opinions and giving evidence. It's personal.

Good lord......You stole my G.I. Joe and I'm pissed, I'm tellin Mom, Dad is gonna whip you when he gets home! I saw where this was going and haven't read it in several days. A PM I received today prompted me to pop in, and boy am I ever sorry.

Here's the deal, and everyone here can take it, leave it, or tell me to shove it, I don't really care.

I've personally killed deer w/ Muzzy, Magnus, Punchcutter, Rocket Hammerhead, Rage and Slick Trick. Know what? Dead deer in the freezer, period. They all work, and just because "bob" doesn't use the same head that "tom" uses...................WHO CARES!!!!! Funny thing with these kind of debates is, they can go on forever because they are based on OPINION. That means, campers, that no one is right, and no one is wrong. That's awefully hard for some folks to grasp, I understand that, but facts is facts.

Now I have to ask myself why in the hell did I just post this. I don't really know.......But man, are there ever times I wish I had some mod powers. This crap gets ridiculous.

Well after reading all the replies, I'm not a better person I can tell you that.

I'm not going to address half of what needs adressed in the thread so in saying that, I'm going to assess the Rage broadhead which is the title of the thread which has nothing to do with my broadhead is better than yours, my shot placement is better than yours, my dad is bigger than you dad.

I wouldn't hesitate to shoot the Rage broadhead. So why don't I?

After being anti mechanical for more years than I can remember and being in "debates" on this very website more times than I can remember I can say that there are some piss poor mechanicals and I can say that there are some piss poor fixed blade heads.

5Shot, whom I have alot of respect for does broadhead testing. On his recommendation and his recommendation alone I tried Rocky Mountain Snypers 2 blade (mechanical) (Rage's prototype). So I bought a pack of Snypers because he ranked them up as tough as Muzzy and since I was (am) a diehard Muzzy fan, okay I'll give them a go.

Since that time (2000) I think, I've shot 6 bucks with the Snypers and 1 doe. OMG the holes are unbelievable and I've had ZERO failures. Snypers open on paper. The Snyper and Rage are not conventional mechanicals and in my opinion shouldn't be lumped into the folding back (jackknife) mechanicals. The rear opening heads (Rage and Snypers) are in a league of their own and I don't see it fair to lump them into "all mechanicals".

There are mechanicals, fixed, cut to tip and (Rage/Snypers) as far as I'm concerned. 5Shot was right and I was sold on Snypers. The Snypers have a 1.5" cutting diameter but the entrance holes I've had are usually 3" to 4" holes and the exit are usually 2" to 3". I've never in my life (26 years bowhunting) have ever had the entrance holes that the Snypers have given me. Now in my 26 years bowhunting I've only used Thunderheads and Muzzys. Snypers (smaller than Rage) have shown me bigger holes than those two.

If Snypers are no longer made, I'll go to the Rage but rest assured, there is always a fixed blade head in my quiver as well, why, cause I can group the two together and I keep the fixed blade heads for critters I might get a shot at and don't want to use a more expensive Snyper.

So, why not curb your attitudes at the door guys.

This thread is about the author's interest in Rage heads. Let's keep it on topic or the thread will go bye byes as twildasin suggested.

Ok, I've heard statements such as these before. How can that be possible? I mean.....If the blades, fully deployed, are 2" wide.....How can it cut a 4" wide slice??

Don imagine a deer quartering. When the blade deploys.....it's at an angle.

6" entrance hole is what I've seen.

What bothers me so much is the detractors of this head have probably never used it.

So you're saying the blades "slide" along the hide before entering?

Hide and muxcle streches on the exit causing a slightly larger exit hole.

You both have it all wrong. The EXIT holes with the rage heads are pretty normal size holes (2-3"). The ENTRANCE holes are unbelievable. Nothing strecthing on a quartering entrance hole.
