we found where a guy has been trespassing on our land and we went and took out the top 5 tree steps and scattered them throughout the woods. then we attached a no trespassing sign to the bottom of his stand.

Why not report it to the local Game Warden? Trespassing to steal a stand puts you right down in the scum with them. Just my opinion.

Cowboy, don't become them, I know it is tempting, but if you get caught going over there and stealing the stands, how do you have any complaint?? Just talk to the land owner first and see what is up, then go from there.

I did and they said without them being in the stands there is nothing they can do. Because there is no proof they are not the land owners. but I know how they are they are all anit hunting... the live in florida and just have property up here.

I would rather be known as a tresspasser taking stands down that being called a poacher any day!
You should not want to be known as either one of the above! Do the correct thing as Jeff stated and go let the land owner know what is going on. How would you like it if you owned land and someone just walked on your land and started stealing stands? Weather there legit or not your stealing!! Do your homework and go to the landowner!

Notify the landowner. If they choose to do nothing. Notify the proper authorities.

Maybe the land owner isn't telling you everything, if you know where the stands are and can see them, then im sure they have permission. You said that the stands are very nice, if I was too sneak on to someone else's property I wouldn't leave nice stands in the woods to be taken. Plus stealing stands is a punishable crime.

2 wrongs.....etc.

If they are breaking the law, notify the landowner and/or authorities.
