RE: Exercises for bowhunting
I don't do anythin specifically for hunting / shooting, but I do have an excercise regime for playing golf. I find it works many of the same muscles used in drawing the bow. Once the snow melts out here in Colorado, I climb mountains which gives me all the cardio I need.

RE: Exercises for bowhunting
As a police officer I work out regularly but when the spring comes I crank the draw weight off my bow and just shoot a ton of arrows at a big target without attempting to work marksmanship. As time goes by I start to crank the weight up and continue to do the same until I get back to my original weight then work marksmanship. If you have a climber as I do I put it on and walk about the property or I put on my backpack with a small load in it to simulate the weight you will be carrying around. This works your legs, and gives your heart a workout as well!
And gzg38b... you have me laughing my butt off over your comment! |

RE: Exercises for bowhunting
I try to lift weights at least 3 or 4 days a week and run 5K at least 3 times a week. Trying to do that doesn't mean that it gets done every week!:D
