Default General/Katera

Just shot both of the Bowtech General and the Hoyt Katera...Both are so sweet. I am amazed how much these new model bows have been silenced over the past few years, both greatly exceeded my expectations. My brother has been advocating 'the general' and has just purchased one in the past few days. I am still on the fence in deciding which way I am going to go. How about some feedback to help me decide.

It's hard to compare those 2 Bows. Kind of like Apples to Oranges. The Katera is Hoyt's speed bow. If you are looking for speed then shoot the new Airbornes. The 82 and 101 are both pretty Awesome. If you are looking for the Quietest, Shockfree bows around the General and the Guardian are both at or near the top in that dept. Make a list of what you want or expect from your bow in the order of importance, and then shoot the Bows most likely to fit your needs/wants. You really can't shoot too many bows. I wouldn't limit myself to 2 models.

I have the katera XL and it is smooth, well built, and tuff as nails - shoots a 3-49 at 281 fps and 2413 --260-262 -- I prefer a longer ATA and the katera fit the bill for me

I agree with Dan they are 2 different types of bow's. Try the Airborns for speed or the General for smooth and quite. The Hoyt is a fun bow to shoot But I dont think Hoyt has a bow like the General or Guardian. Correct me if I am wrong. The Katra felt heavy to me in my hand. And I am not so hung up on the speed thing so I went wite h the General. And by the way I have been shooting Hoyts for over 10 years so dont hate.

love my katera, i shot all the ones i was interested in,
i shot the 82, x-force and the katera. To me I really liked the katera, it is a little on the heavy side but i dont walk very far usually. IMO the x-force was the second best i shot
