And, with that I have experiance interacting with them and thats where I form my opinions. I do not generalise. Far from it. Turn on the TV and you'll know what Im talking about.

I only speak the truth and try to be honest as possible. I know Scotland isn't perfect too but we aren't shut off from current affairs either. :)
Oh yeah...I forgot...everything we see on TV is true life.

You don't generalize, yet you say that the majority of Americans who visit Scotland are ignorant slobs? Interesting. Seriously you crack me up. BTW, what does Scotland's knowledge of current affairs have to do with anything?
Not everything but you constantly hear about America this, America that on the news, which i do believe is real last time i checked. I sit and watch TV 24/7 because im a slob and I dont go out anymore, I dont even work...;)

Current affairs, i,e whats going on in this terrible world of ours....you know?

Can I just point out that your very easy to wind up. Just testing :D

Who is wound up?

I know what "current affairs" means...now what does that have to do with trophy hunting, or ignorant slobbish Americans wasting meat in Scotland?

"America this, America that" ...sounds like the foundation of a very solid argument....not sure what, but something interesting no doubt.

To any Americans who may be offended by my comments, I am sorry my Scottish sense of humour may come across as weird but we're harmless.

Have a pint on me.

I'll admit....... I'm biased. America is great. All foreigners who think otherwise can go pound sand where the sun don't shine! [:-]

As this line in your first post let us all know.

"However my first kill I would also take the head as well as with the meatto symbolise my "first one"

No, because its unethical and not true hunting. You kill only what you eat. Not for a head. Senseless killing gets right on my nerves.

However my first kill I would also take the head aswell as with themeatto symbolise my "first one"

There are many so called American "trophy hunters" that come to Scotland purely to get a big red stag and leave the meat. People like that should not come here if they're going to act like idiots and disgrace our hunting heritage.
The aboveis called generalizing.

ORIGINAL: remington_girl

The majority of people who come here are ignorant and only want trophies. I have nothing to be shameful about.

Most places you go to actually prepare the meat for you but they never seem to want it and most stay for about 4 weeks.

To kill atrophy buck is fine but I hate to see the meat go to waste when there is fine meat there.

When I go to MS for 2 weeks I will eat what meat i can but when I have to return home I will give it to my extended family over there as good will.

Again. How many hunters come to that country? How many are you ever exposed to? Not talking about what you "heard" or saw on TV with that question. Opinions and heresay are not necessarily truth.

ORIGINAL: remington_girl

Im not "idiotic" I have pleanty of education under me,im just telling how it is from experiance and things i've heard from game keepers who i keep friendly with. I understand that you cannot take meat home with you but leaving it with the locals is better than throwing it to the dogs. Like I said earlier i dont like waste.
Explain, are we to believe that trophy hunting americans in your country all throw their meat to the dogs? Who is handling the hunters, the game, are they not responsible for helping find somewhere for it? I mean it's not really practical to ship 100's of pounds of meat anywhere, especially from one country to another, is that even legal?

ORIGINAL: remington_girl

And im sure theres also pleanty who waste meat on American soil too. And that is indeed their problem and they should be ashamed. I dont know many like that but the majority of Americans that I know all keep the meat frozen until consumption.
Now the majority of Americans "you" know are freezing the meat until consumption. I thought they threw it to the dogs, I'm probably reading that wrong.
Then when Iasked you this below:

ORIGINAL: NEW61375

What are they ignorant about? How much meat would be an acceptable amount to eat in 4 weeks? A pound a day would still only be 28 lbs. are you saying that after they kill the animal and prepare to return home that if they can't ship it they "waste" it? How do they do that? Do they throw it on the ground, leave it at the airport, hide it in their room when they leave? It seems that the place they are hunting should have some knowledge of local places the meat could be used or donated as most of the hunters probably don't have extended family to leave it with over there, kind of likethe Hunters for the Hungry organization in the states.
you did not even reply.

So in other words, Im not exactly bashing. I think others do a better job than me for example the middle east. I love America, thats why Im going back for 2 weeks to hunt.
I have no doubt you have met many Americans through your work the comments most were caught off guard by are the first few on the original topic which seemed to based more on your opinions and heresay than anything else.

Ignorant trophy hunting Americans who waste meat, act like idiots, and ruin your great hunting heritageis kind of what I took from it, can you see how that is exactly the opposite of "not using generalizations" and "speaking the truth". How can you speak the "truth" when you don't even know any of the data involved? How many foreigners hunt there? How many are Americans? What are their options for the meat? Who maintains the meat for them? Are they not equally responsible? And a million other questions I could think of. Sounds pretty ignorant to blast off with comments and have nothing to back them up with orfuel them with other than "I heard". Not trying to be a jerk.

I think Miss Remington is apologizing..She was in the mood for a little debating on a topic to get through a Friday Afternoon (actually evening in Scotland). I don't think it was her intent to get us Inflamed.

Perhaps we give her a Visa on this one and let her off the hook. ;)
