I think you mean if it was legal in your state you would shoot it. I would too. IA made it illegal. Dumb law as it is inferior and shouldn't be in the breeding gene pool.

RE: Would you shoot an albino if it was illegal?

Um, Don, an albino is not an inferior deer. It's simply missing the color pigment gene and nothing more. Two true abino deer could breed perfectly healthy "brown deer".

I would shoot one in a heart beat. I exclusively hunted a piebald doe a several years ago, passed up some really good bucks hoping for her. Saw her 5 times, closest was 50 yards. It's legal here in PA. I can understand the mystic behind them but making them illegal game seems foolish.

LOL, I know a guy who shot a beautiful 12 albino with a stick bow, he's successfully taken bucks since, lives a pretty good life too. ;)

no i mean if it was illegal... i think its the stupidest law ive ever seen in my life, and all though ill probly never seen an albino in my life, i would still shoot one in a heart beat, illegal or not.

I dont see hows its stupid, i want to see you pass up that deer if its illegal in your state, and under your stand... send me the fine in the mail, well worth it.

RE: Would you shoot an albino if it was illegal?

I'm colorblind...so yeah, I'd shoot it!

I'm not actually colorlind, but if I saw an albino, I would shoot it with my video camera and nothing else. Any piebald, on the other hand, would get an arrow in its vitals in a heartbeat! I think I would even shoot a button buck piebald.

If there is any spot of brown, its down.

RE: Would you shoot an albino if it was illegal?

It's called breaking the law........hello.

There are lots and lots of really neat things out there that I would love to touch or have but we can't always have what we want. Plenty of laws out there that we might not necessarily AGREE with (and this IS one I don't) but tough noogies, it's illegal and you should conduct yourself accordingly.

You see the prettiest girl you ever saw in your life walk by and in your mindshe's one of a kind and man you would justLOVE to walk right up and kiss her!![:-]...........Just because YOU want to makes it ok?

I stand by my original post. ;)

The fine usually includes loss of hunting, vehicle, weapon, etc...possibly jail...

and what are you going to do with it if you don't get caught? bring it to the taxidermist? lol...he would get a kick out of that I am sure.

RE: Would you shoot an albino if it was illegal?

Hey Bro..If it was illegal. I can guarantee you I'd pass it up..as would Matt and98.9% of the hunters on this site!

I would shoot if it was legal, no doubt. But wouldn't even be tempted if not.

If you were going to take it illegally and you knew he was out there, how is shooting it with a bow (even in season) any different than shooting it at night, at any time of the year?? Still against the law..right??

It is posts and statements like this that gives hunters a black eye.[:@]

Dude, you need to grow up and try to post mature and sensible thoughts and ideas, or stop posting altogether.

Telling people on the internet (or anywhere else) that you'd willingly break the law because you don't agree with it is pure stupidity.

Illegal - camera, what would you do with it anyway??? No taxi is going to take that chance.
Legal - broadhead.

You going to bring it in with Cmere deer? Then you could double fines.;)

What if you shot it and then it went ten yards on to your posted neighbors property?

No I wouldn't shoot it ifit was illegal. Someone else proably had to pass it up, so why should you get to shoot it?

We have an albino doe around our farm that I have seem many, many times and NO I WOULD NOT EVER SHOOT HER!!!!!

How can you even admit you would be willing to break the law? That kind of comment really makes hunters look good.

Legal or illegal, I probably won't, there is a chance it'll jump the fence and die 10 yards on my crabby neighbors property, and he won't let me retreive it.

What if it was gut shot by an athiest gay hunter that's pro choice behind a highfence under a feeder with a crossbow on a sunday after the guy had a beer at lunch?

Well if you didn't shoot him with a dull broadhead thru that w-b or if you would have made a follow-up shot, he would be on the correct sideof the fence.[8D]

agreed. albino and piebald deer should be actively and encouragingly hunted. they should be seasonless and tagless.

RE: Would you shoot an albino if it was illegal?

haha, I think he means illegal! I thought the same thing, if it were legal, I'm not sure, but it's big time illegal here, so I guess shoot it and hope I'm not on the jury.

I laughed when I saw the post, basically saying, would you commit a crime knowingly? Would you grab that bag of money laying on the floor at the bank?

What do you plan to do with it once you shoot it? Mount it yourself? tell buddies about it? throw it away and be honored you just shot it and move on? Doesn't make sense to me anyway you slice it. You couldn't take it to a taxidermist to mount....so you'd be stuck doing it yourself. And if you're just using the meat, what are you doing with the hide? throwing it away, sounds likea waste. Either way, bad idea if it's illegal in your state. If anything get the law changed, then shoot it.

Personlly I know albinos tend to not last long in the wild anyway, and they're always be around in the genetics somewhere, so shooting 1 won't really erase albinos for good. I think it should probably be legal, and then you could have a cool mount, or dont shoot it if you want to see more of them around. Or at least that one. I would think up north in the snow albinos would be a good thing, same with like white tigers in siberia....etc...though you usually don't see them more often in those places, but I think a albine would have a better chance growing up in a snowy climate vs. elsewhere.

Yeah! but then I've seen discussions on whether broadheads should be shaving sharp or not, and if you should pick a spot or just shoot by the force.
Nothing much surprises me anymore;)
