Yes, it bothers me. It's a sell out. Say shoot or something... but please don't tell me you harvested an animal. Did you plant that crop and fertilize it and weed it. Heck no, you went out into the woods and killed it. Just like all this hoop da la about the Braves and the tomohawk chop, or the attempt to change the Redskins name because it was offensive to some idiot, and lord help us, the Washington Bullets changed their name because it denoted violence. Of course it was alright to call them the Wizzards and promote witchcraft.[&:] You can give me all the reasons to say "Harvest" and I'll tell you to get a set and stand up.

I dont use it a lot and pretty much never when I am talking to "hunters"but when I am teaching the NASP program ordiscussing conservation in a life science unit to7th gradersthe word "harvest" is a term students understand and can relate too in the over allpicture of land and resource management. It isalso less offensive to the nonhunters or those that are neutral.

Now as far as me turning in my man card for using the word Harvest, I will be glad to do so when the rest of you man card snachers can say you have beat a Bear to death with a club, stomped a rat out of a rattlesnake's ass, or had to pistol whip your way out of a gay bar after arresting one of their fellow bitting ,scratching, He She B!tche$

as the devils advocate, I have to say, harvest isn't a new age word in the hunting world, although I do agree that it is being used now days instead of kill, because it sounds better to the non-hunting world. just like if you said "i just harvested my neighbor, because he didn't return my shovel." It doesn't have the same effect, but even still, many popular hunters used it in years passed. fred bear can be heard using it in some of his videos.
I don't agree or disagree, if it's used or not, I don't care.. I personally use ''kill'' but these ''pro'' hunters nowdays are all about that $$$ and if using "harvest" keeps the attention of someone who may have been scared away by "kill" then they'll do it.
Yet in another light, some people use it as a sign of respect toward the animal they pursued, gettin' all spirtual about it and such, If thats your thing then cool. uncle ted does it, and he makes it seem like there is a true connection.
