RE: #1 most important thing you learned afeild this year?
ORIGINAL: Germ I suck[&:] The most important thing I learned this year is how to effectively hunt certain areas. I alternated stand locations and didn't over hunt a single area, keeping the entire property virtually unspooked and productive all year long. |

I learned that the "Charmin to Go" packet contains about 4 less squares than is necessary for a first rate job afield. That and a whole lot about EHD.

When setting a stand in the dark you can get no perspective of how high you are with a flashlight.
Not being a big fan of heights I learned this is a bad idea. When the sun came up I realized how high I was and had a shooter walked by I would have watched as I didn't feel comfortable standing up, aiming and shooting. |

A treestand and a sudden case of Diarhhea are a bad combination.

Actually I took up tracking this year. I learned more this year than any year before. The things I learned this year from tracking will put a lot of antler on the ground in up coming seasons. If I was going to teach a newcomer to the sport One of the first things I would do is take them out on a track and follow it and study every little detail of that deers movement. |

To never stop hunting/paying attention while still in the woods. Cost me dearly this year. One of those was a deerof a life time.[:@]

That when you work for a company that has hunting lease and allows you to shoot big deer during the middle of the week... you tend to work harder for them.:D:D:D

To have the patience to pass up 135 to 140" bucks with my bow so that they will be 160 to 180" next year. Also that having a good year doesn't mean you have to shoot an animal, I didn't shoot a deer all year long and still had the best hunting year of my life, and what i mean by that is i seen so many 130 to 140 class bucks walk under my stand and it was so fun to watch them come running into rattling
