According to the his webpage he was stolen and they caught the guy who did it. How do you steal a deer, where do you put it and how do you explain to people where he came from? Seems to me that it unless you killed him and did your own mount you are pretty much guarenteed to get caught

The guy who stole it didn't want the rack for his recognition, he most likely was after the money that Goliath's semen samples (big big $), but in the deer breeding world, I'm sure everyone knew about this deer so I honestly don't know how the thief expected to get away with it (although I think he had the deer captive for a couple of years)
