New to the forum
 

Hey everyone, I am new to the bowhunting forum here, and just wanted to make my prescence known.
I have been hunting since I was 12, and am 21 now. I just decided to get into bow hunting over this past summer, by doing 3d shoots and such here in central PA.
I shoot a Jennings Buckmaster bow, with 30" draw and 65# pull. For a rest i use a whisker biscuit, with a Toxonics IV 4 pin fiber optic sight, and a tru-fire bear paw x caliper release. ALso, using easton 2314 aluminum arrows.
Early season I didn;t get the chance to get out that much due to college classes, but fortunately my X-mas break coincided with the late season here in PA.
I got out a good bit and the last day, I was involved in a drive (all guys but me with muzzloaders, last day, i figured what the hell)
Anyway on one of the drives, a huge doe and a large buck (size not horn wise) ran out to me. I whistled and the doe and buck stopped but the buck stopped behind a tree behind the doe, so I pulled on the doe and madea double lung pass through shot. Tracked her for 150 yards or so, and found her.
Oh yeah I was using muzzy 100 grain 4 blade broadheads.
WEll anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and am looking forward to posting on these forums :-)

Thanx for all the welcomes.
If you guys have any suggestions for mysetup please just let me know, I am always willing to take suggestions.
Personally I am pretty pleased with my buckmaster, at 20 yards i can hold a group within 2 inches, at 30 around 3 or 4 inches, and at 40 i get about 4 inch or a little higher groups. All shots are easily within deer vitals, so i am really pleased so far.

OH yeah I almost forgot, I meant to say thanx for all the congrats on the doe, I will have pictures here soon for all of you guys (I know it's not a buck or anything, but I was still pretty excited :-))
I honestly thought i had blown all my luck already this year because first day of bear season I was hunting in Clinton county with my fiance and got a 153lb male PA black bear, so getting the doe was just the topping on a great year I guess. :-)

Will be looking for the pic.Very wise and mature to shoot the doe when you had a good shot.Many hunters would of waited for the buck and went home empty handed.

Congrats on the late season doe.....that's not easy to do especially being the "Handicapped" guy on a drive!

You're gonna have a blast next season!.....sounds like you've got a leg up already.
Maybe we'll cross paths sometime this season at a 3D shoot.

Welcome aboard. This forum is awsome. It is always in use by a lot of people and there is tons of neat information to learn. If you have a problem, talk to the moderators, they will help you out. They are very good people. If you really want a buck, talk to a guy named Cardeer. He makes Indian Spirtual necklaces and everyone that got one this year was able to bag a buck. Welcome and congrats on the success you've had. This was my first year to get the job done with a bow also. What a feeling of accomplishment huh?

Welocome to the board bigdog, you are one up on me in the bow kill department, congrats. I have killed quite a few with gun over the years, but this past season was my first full season of bow, I missed one clean and got busted by an 8 point due to hitting a limb with my bow that was full of dry leaves. There are some very knowledgeable folks here and most of them are very helpful.

Yep, Cardeer does make them. They use to have a button on the top that would link you to his e-mail so you could ask him for one, I don't know what happened to it. If you don't believe me, just post a new subject on here and ask everyone what they think about Cardeers necklaces. They will tell you that they are awsome.

Well the reason I was asking is because this year i got a bear with my rifle, and I have the teeth from him, i have been searching around where i live for anyone that would make a necklace from them (can't exactly wear it around campus or anything but still it would be nice to have)
This board is really awesome
Yeah it was a pretty huge feeling of accomplishment when i got that doe. At first i thought I had screwed up, because the instant i hit her, she jumped up and tore off through the woods out of sight. I went and found where i had hit her and took an arrow out of my quiver and stuck it in the ground, and went back to my heading post on the drive, and waited for the drivers to come through and i got a couple of them to help me trail her.
