"KISS"

How many of you are artsy fartsy when it comes to bowhunting?? Do you use everything out there? Scent lok, the latest doe pee, decoys, a grunt call with 800 different sounds from a deer fetus to a 24 year old buck? Latest camo, rattle bag? etc.. or, do you KISS? KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!!??

Gosh I guess I dont get a "kiss" I have had the same camo for years I did however buy new scent loc last year and I used a can last year which worked really well. Other than that I keep it simple I guess Im just a freak about keeping myself and my clothes scent free!

My stand is a given.....since I climb every hunt.
But....besides that.....I carry with me to stand:
Bow
Binos
Bow hook
Can't get much simpler than that.
I don't use rattle bags; scents; grunt tubes; etc...
I'll also be going trad on a lot of my hunting for '08.

Well, I see nothing wrong with upgrading, Im talking about the actual hunt part. I use two things 98% of the time. Hunter's Specialties Earth Scent and Dan Fitzgerald's Deer Dander, and that's it. I theorize the lessI make myself known the better off I am. Just sit in a good spot and let the deer do the rest// Just my 2 cents..

I am a big believer in Scent-Lok, but I think my approach to hunting is very simple. Until the rut is in full swing, I use no scents, no calls, and no decoys. I try to make myself invisible and pick good ambush spots between food sources and bedding areas. Once the rut starts, I do rattle, use a can call, as well as place a few scent bombs out. I still consider that a very simple approach.

K.I.S.S. isa lesson that I learned that will always stick with me. The more simple you keep it the less likely osmething will go wrong. I try to apply it to most everything I do in hunting.

Lets take a peek into my backpack. knife, gps, 2 compasses, 2 lighters, bow hook, 2 deer calls, rattle bag, release, rope, folding saw, binos., camo netting, bottle to pee in, and sometimes my montana decoy. If it's an all day hunt I bring something to eat and drink.
