backlpack wilderness hunt with my 66 year old Dad for elk. I killed a big 6x5 and then bugled him in a nice 6x6 2 days later. Public OTC lands, backpack in and out - very tough, very rewarding, my Mom and newly wed wife (and her sister) were in the closest town when we came out
I've had a lot of good hunts with my dad, NM mule deer, Colorado elk, Kansas whitetails ..... my best hunts didn't have anything to do with shooting animals really

Probably a tie between my first elk hunt with my dad and my first caribou hunt with my dad. The elk hunt was something I looked forward to literally my entire life up to that point, and the caribou hunt was just one of those trips where everything went perfectly.

The day I shot my first deer, Dec 7,1968 @ 7:04 AM. It's what got me started on a long and satisfying journey that I'll pursue for as long as I am physically able.

My favorite hunt was October 9, 2007,my birthday, a little buck walked in and looked around, after about 10 minutes of snooping around he left. About 20 minutes later I saw him running, I knew something bigger must have scared him off. Then 5 minutes later I saw four bucks walking to my stand. I could not see them all, but at the end of convoy there was a nice 11 point buck. The 2 small bucks started sparring, and the 11 and a nice 8 started too spar also. At 10 yards I put my arrow through both lungs, as he is sparring. He did not know what hit him. He experied about 50 yards away.

I have quite a few. This year was pretty awsome!!! It was my wifes first year bowhunting. She went to kentucky with my father and I to hunt the first week and a half of november. We seen so many deer it was crazy!! And we seen a total of nine diferent bucks!!! She shot a 140'ish 10 point with me in the tree right next to her.. The only problem was she shot it a little too far forward and hit bone[:'(]Crazy thing was it fell over, flopped around, jumped up and took off running, tripped over a single strand of barb wire, hit a tree with it head and was knocked out!!!! It looked like it was done for. We got all excited and started making out, Then the buck wobbled to its feet, got some compposure back, then took off like a bat out of hell!!!! We looked at each other like we just been carjacked.... my dad, wifeand I tracked it for awhile with hardly a spec of blood. Dad seen it two days later on a ridge with some does so he was right back at it...Two cool to do that with my wife...It was priceless!!!!
