Bow only.... Buck and doe hunts..... All DIY style hunts, no outfitted or restricted access lands.... A host and hunter who knows and sounds like they know what they are doing.

I'm not to picky... Just show it how it really is, I just hate the "fakeness" and OVER editing of a lot of shows.
This is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you Buckeye.

I AGREE 100& with Buckey. and .. to make it even better.. enough with the 400000 sponsors, we use this and use that and thank this guy and that guy and blah blah blah.. tooooo many bleepin sponsors. me 2 euro cents.

I want to see real men hunting, I swear, we need a Gay hunting show if we're going to have these girlymen hunting. I don't want guys jumping up and down like a jackass after they kill some tiny buck. I think I'd make that show, if I didn't feel it is already being over commercialized. If guy gets a shot at a monster, and the camera isnt on or the cameraman can't see the buck, I want the hunter to shoot it anyway, and put a light on it later, I want to see monsterbucks harvested, not passed on to never see again because of low light bs.....take the buck, put the light on him at night and show us him. I don't want to see your little kid either, taking his first buck that scores 20" or 170" or your girlf/wife and her makeup, what's with these women/hunters wearing their makeup? I thought this was hunting. Would like to see more northerners than what seems to be all southerners having shows. I want to see guys chasing trespassers off their property/prosecuting them too. I want to know the gun being used too/caliber. bow setup I really don't care to know. I don't want tips about some new product, which happens to be a show sponsor unless it's an amazing product that will be around in 5 years still.

buceye pretty much summed it up. the only other thing i can think different is shows showing typical harvest. i hate seeing just about everything having to be over 175[&:]

I wanna see somebody who mixes and matches camo like I do... Hell, I can have on 5 different patterns in layers, on a single hunt.[&:] And frequently my pants don't match my top. Guess I'm no fashionista...

I agree with most of the stuff mentioned.

I'm tired of seeing:
1. The huge food plot hunts
2. Outfitter hunts
3. "Management/cull" buck hunts
4. x100 for the fake tracking -- I HATE IT!
5.

I'd like to see:
1. Footage of anyone shooting their first deer/pig/anything
2. The "REAL" facial expression after a hit or miss.
3. Some footage of hunts on timber company land. Preferably in E.TX, I've never seen video of a hunt here or anywhere that resembles the terrain I hunt.
4.

Maybe I'll think of more later.

Being with someone for their first kill is awesome. We need to see more of this.

As far as the fist pumping goes, it's tough to say. I don't know what I'll do when I finally arrow another deer. I'll probably be doing cartwheels!:D As long as the reaction is real and not staged, that's what matters.

all these are good ideas but, what I realy want to see is big deer. If all of them start hunting public land the hunting shows might get a little boring. More informative shows would be interesting but I think the main focus has got to be on big deer.

One other thing that bugs me is the added background music. I don't know about you but I've never heard music in the woods.

On a lighter side I did think the realtreead was funny witha whole band in the treestands.
Justseems that I may not be the only one that bothers. I want to hear how it realy happened. As well as seeing it.

I'm with you, sometimes the music kills the excitement, gives it away.

Also from "My" point of view, I don't think there is anyone who could make a video that I would "Have to see". I mean if I'm in hunting mode, I may turn one on the outdoor channeland watch it. But I'm not one who is gonna go buy one.

It seems the market is over-saturated with video's now..Everyone goes to the bush with a camera in hand. How much more can it withstand? I guess someone must be buying them huh?

Some good info here for sure. I would like to see a few more traditional hunts. Camp humor is good. I too want to know the Why's to the hunt, why you did this/that.

With all of the talk of "What could these guys do on public land?" I think it would be interesting if somebody tackled the challenge of hunting some public or small private land, not the whole video maybe just a hunt or two. A two or three day hunt on unfamiliar turf and show us what data you used to narrow down the area(aerial photos, topos, recon stands, food sources, etc).

Another thing, do all hunts have to start with this lead in: "Well it's the third week of November here in Bic Buck County USA and the rut is kicking in pretty good." Show me some more late season hunts or gun season bowhunts or "non" prime time hunts. Like I said before not the whole video just a hunt or two, it would probably make a few more hunters relate to the guys/video. JMO

Anyone remember the soundtrack from the video "Down for the Count" Dan Fitzgerald/Bob Foulkrod??

Down for the count,
Down for the count,
That 90 pounds put em' down
for the count.

Gotta love it.

A lot of bear hunts. Black, Griz, and (if possible, though I highly doubt it will be) polar.

As someone who is tasked to film 10+ hunts this year. Not just on my place butin multiple states/countries:DThis is probably my favorite thread on this site ever.

Thank you posters so very much for your open candor!

Please keep the information comming.

As a "viewer" of these videos and shows, I agree with almost everything that has been posted here. I hope to create some quality entertainment based on these suggestions :)

I want to know why you put your stand in THAT tree. I want to know EVERY reason behind your decision. If thats wher ethe outfitter told you to set up.....say so. If you're there because you've seen a buck exiting in that vicinity a few days prior....or even last season during this time......tell me. If it's got a good tree in front of it that you might use for cover to draw.....tell me. If it's simply 30 yds away from where you last encountered him....and you wanted to mix things up......tell me. If you can orient yourself to keep the sun ou of your eyes in that tree in that time of day.......tell me. If it's a great wind for that tree.....tell me.

These are things WE ALL think about every time we hunt. I don't think the guys we see on TV DO.

Why are you shooting your setup on your bow? Why that bow? Arrow? BH? If it isn't for $$.....why?

How do you practice?

So many things they never tell us.........so many.......
Personally, I like watching Lee and Tiff, because you see all the hard work they put into hunting and getting that footage. Lee hunting/filming 54 days straight to get a buck. 300 acres of food plots. Stacks of stands to put up every year. I don't operate on his scale but I do put in a TON of work and invest crazy time. I am glad people see on thier shows how much work they do to get that footage. People think Lee and Tiff have the life, and in some respects they do, but they look like they work thier tail off to hunt, I know I do.

RE: About A Hunting Video..

The girls gone wild of hunting videos would be a start......:0

But for real, I like to see fair chase hunts where the video shows the work done in the off-season. The Drury Videos are pretty cool where they talk about why they hang stands in a certain locations. I would like to see more videos that are in the deer woods...the big woods. I am tired of seeing guys hunting on the corners of bean/corn fields with an outfitter....rattling their antlers, setting up their decoys....gets old quick. How about some good old fashioned funnel hunting, invading bedding areas during the rut, and all in all, some thicker cover for all us guys that have to hunt hard to kill, not just sneaking in and hunting where there are 10 million bucks running around, exposing themselves in broad daylight in the middle of a biologic field.
