I shot Aftershock maniacs this year and they worked awesome, great blood trail, razor sharp. The look good too. you can shoot them in as a 2 or 4 blade broadhead.

The best? Doesn't exist,

I use Rocky Mountain Snypers 2 blade 100 grain, Rages older brother. If I couldn't get them, I'd go Rage.

That new rocket does look interesting.....Looks just like a piston point to me.....or close to it anyway..

You need to mention Thunderheads. I switched from Thunderhead 125's this year to Spitfire 125 expandables, and I will be going back to the Thunderheads this year. Not to say the Spitfire was a bad broadhead, but they did just as well as the Thunderhead, and were more expensive, harder to clean and change blades on.

The Rage is pretty awesome! Makes big entry holes, bigger exit holes and leaves a bunch of blood on the ground. A buddy of mine says they are the best "bad" shot broadhead on the market. Not saying you should make bad shots, but it happens time and again, so why not have something that leaves HUGE holes.

I'm currently shooting Grim Reapers, but they are all good choices. Pick one you like and can shoot well, any of them will work.

That's becasue it is. Escalade Sports purchased the Piston point and are now the "manufacturer". They made no changes to the piston point.

Rocket, Trophy Ridge, Carolina Archery, Bear, Jennings are all owned by Escalsde Sports.

Rocket, Carolina Archery, and Trophy Ridge are all marketed under the Trophy Ridge name now. And of course with them all being owned by Escalade sports they are all being used and promoted by the Primos team.

IMO the best broadhead out there bar none is the Slick Trick.

There isn't another broadehad made that combines the strength, total cutting ability, andflight characteristics into a single broadhead like the Slick Trick does.
*Sure there are other broadheads that have more cutting ability but they aremechanicals and don't have near the strength and durability.
*Sure there are other broadheads that fly just as well but they are again weak mechanicalsor they are smaller fixed blade heads that do not have the total cutting ability that the ST does.
*Sure there are other boradheads that are made of steel and are just as strong and durable but you will find that they are smaller fixed blade heads or three blade heads that do not have as much cutting ability.

The Slick trick packs more of everything into a single broadhead like no other broadhead made.

Just find one that shoots for you....if you make a hole in the kill zone you will pick up your animal at 20 yards regardless.....

For me - NAP Spitfire Xp's & Rage

Why shoot anything else when you can MUZZIFY them!!! No in all seriousness all of the above are good broadheads out of a well tuned bow and well placed shot. All are plenty good enough for deer and other like-sized animals.

I currently shoot Grim Reaper 100 gr. Razortips, they worked awesome on those feral hogs so they shoot do great on deer.I was thinking on getting HellRazors or the Rage 2 or 3 Blade. What about those.

I try to look at this this way.......

If "I" were going to be shot at.....which head would I NOT want shot at me?

Rage 2-blade is "as advertised". I saw holes in deer that some would think were inflicted with a bush axe, this past season. They are absolutely devastating.

I took 2 deer with another head this past fall.....and seven with the Rage heads. NO CONTEST.

I've seen the holes and damage done by the Rage 2 blade and I wouldn't want to be shot with one either!

Well, ok, but if you only want second best.Remember............... second place is just the first place looser. ;)

I choose Razorcaps.

But if you do decide that you dowant to shot the best and not some second rate headthen order some Slick Tricks.

im sold on thunderheads.. even tho any well placed shot on an animal with any broadhead will do the job

Tightpoint shuttle T locks are awesome heads. They fly great and make bigger holes than you would think.

Rage 2 blade are truly the "oops I made a bad shot" head. Cause if you make a bad shot (and I did) they make a heck of a wound (and it did) and a massive blood trail = easy to find animal. I put a rage through the liver and the bloodloss was spectacular.

Slicktricks are just flat out great heads. The new slick tricks out this year are going to be a huge hit. 1 1/4 cutting diamiter 4 blade grizz trick... should make huge holes.

Clearly I don't just hunt with one head. I have had great succes with all 3 and you will find a mix in my quiver.

Ihave taken nearly 100 assorted Biggame animals with 3 Blade Rocky Mountains (Razor & now the Ironhead) since they came on the market in the 70s. Whitetail, Mule Deer, Black Bears, Buffalo, Sheep,Elk, Caribou, wild Hogs.
My son, Daughter & Brother also use Rocky Mountains.

Muzzy 3 blade for me...for now. Maybe try the Rage 2 blade at some point. Right now I'm liking the groups and kills I get frommy Muzzy's. Bad THROUGH the bone!

I didn't read all the posts, so not sure if these were mentioned. They seem to be fairly unknown. But, after one trip as a test run, I am completely sold on the Steelforce Phatheads. We shot the 100 grain head, which has .080" thick blades (not a typo!), and a 1 1/4" cut, and unreal sharp out of the package. Our test trip was a hog hunt, and the penetration we got was great, and the blood trails amazing especially given the poor blood trails hogs normally leave. All four of us needed no tuning to get them to hit with our field points. They were not a sponsor for us...but I am doing my best to get them on board with us! I will post some pix of the holes from the trip later. This pic is from their website showing the head, without the bleeder (which wedid have in for our hunt).
