I shot a buck at 34 yards a few years ago. After 35 yards, I seriously consider whether to take a shot or not. Luckily my last 5 bow kills have been 25 yards or less.
And GMMAT, that shot looks just fine.....

Fourlongest shots with a Bow. I don't Gun hunt.
1. 84 yards Bull Elk
2. 83 yards Whitetail Buck
3. 51 yards Mule Deer Buck
4. 50 yards Whitetail Buck
I won't shoot much over 50 yards anymore as my eyes are not what they used to be. Longer shots are not for everyone, but they are not near as difficult or risky as most people want to believe.

Haven't taken a long one yet, but past elk hunt I was ready for 50 or 60yds. On a deer though I think 40yds is still a long shot, though I'm more comfy to consider that 50yd shot. I may do an antelope archery hunt where I'm thinking maybe be ready for 50-60yd shots, and that's a fairly small animal.

I have put a tape measure on several antelope bucks, and they measure just over 16" from the top of the back hairs to the bottom of the chest hairs. Not that much smaller than a whitetail. I think if you have the patience to sit in the ground blind on a water hole for hours/days in extreme heat, the 25 yard shot is a real possibility. But for spot and stalk (great fun), 60 to 80 yard shotsis what I wouldexpect.
