mobow, another vote for the XX78 Super Slams. If I shoot aluminum again, that's the only aluminum shaft I will shoot!

Weren't those replaced with the XX75 SuperSlam Digitals? They size them by weight now, I think .....

Yes, Tony. You are 100% correct. They rate the sizes like carbons now, 400, 340....ect.....We have some '07's on the shelf though.

I see the 78's are .001 straight, and the 75's are .002......I know I said I want the best, but is that the only difference?
Ok ... the alloy is different ...... the XX75'shave a 7075alloy a 96,000psi and theXX78's have a 7178 alloy and are rated for 100,000psi
Thanks for saving me the trouble of looking up the actuall numbers.[:-]I knew the alloy was better but I didn't know a number to quantify it.

The X7's are actually a little better overall BUT not for hunting because they are more brittle.Something to do with a quenching process I believe that makes them brittle but makes them as accurate as can be.

Mobow,I will be honest and say that if you are still trying to keep the speed up and shoot thin walled aluminum, don't waist your time or money. If you are going with aluminum, imo, stay above a .014 wall thickness, penetration and durability are much better.Again,IMO.;)

Yeah, but the 2512's are the weight and spine I'm looking for? Have an alternative?
