Shot placement is key on all animals with the bow but even more critical on dangerous game............with a gun you may have alittle lee way on your placement, but with the bow itmay be the difference between a dead animal or a dead hunter. That being said one well placed arrow will kill any animal dangerous or not

Iremember a thread recently when a few members were carrying a pistol while bowhunting whitetails (illegally)....because ofblack bears.But its not ok for a PH to be packing heat whenguiding a bow hunter that is after cape buffalo?

Shoot, a cornered squirrel is more than I want to tangle with.I always have a back up gun for that situation.

Hey BBM....I've carried a handgun with me to stand.....hunting whitetails.

I didn't do it under the guise of hunting dangrous game with a bow, though. I wasn't even hunting the animal I was hoping I didn't see.

Very true. 'In my book' protecting yourself is protecting yourself, it could be from homicidial maniacs or lions or bear. Dont think you can protect yourself with a bow in the horribly scary whitetail woods on your back 40....or in alaska? Dont bowhunt.[8D]
