What gets your heart pumpin' about bowhunting?

RE: What gets your heart pumpin' about bowhunting?
Don't get me wrong, a mature whitetail buck will still do it to, but these days I've gravitated to bull elk. I yearn for Sept. to come around and head to the Rockies, "..the marrow of the world!" I think most bow hunters go through a "growing" process and move up the ladder to bigger game animals. Right now I'm preoccupied with bull elk. I can't wait until Sept., to hear the sound of that bullscreaming at my cow calls. After that, then it's back to the hardwoods tooutwit a buck.

To put it quite simply, the 30 seconds before I drawn (or plan to). When you have the bow in your hands and your release is clipped on and you are looking forthat small spot.

Funny stuff. For me just getting out to my stand is enough. I spend so much time in the city while at school that even driving past different wooded plots on the way back home get my heart beating.
