Don't get me wrong, a mature whitetail buck will still do it to, but these days I've gravitated to bull elk. I yearn for Sept. to come around and head to the Rockies, "..the marrow of the world!" I think most bow hunters go through a "growing" process and move up the ladder to bigger game animals. Right now I'm preoccupied with bull elk. I can't wait until Sept., to hear the sound of that bullscreaming at my cow calls. After that, then it's back to the hardwoods tooutwit a buck.

The best times for me are when I hear them first. The anticipation of what might be coming, how close will it get, will I have a shot. THAT is what gets my heart pumping.
