In my opinion go with the lone wolf, it is super quiet, easy to use and very sturdy. The price is a little high but you said you will only use one stand. Remember you get what you pay for!

Lightest
Strongest
Easiest to setup belongs to one stand and one stand only
Lone Wolf Climber Sit N Climb

Bullet packer is nice, but it has parts that can be lost. Lone Wolf has no parts that can fall off.

If you are a large guy, I would say go with Summit. Lone Wolf's are great, but not the most comfortable IMO

Lone Wolf, then Equalizer, then Summit.

Lone Wolf, there's the best and there's all the rest.;)

Thanks for the Lone Wolf tip. Haven't heard about them yet. I'll check out their site. The whole "no parts to fall off" is a definite price point!

I would like to spend under $200. Alpha or Assault?

I'd like to know 2 things:

1. What part can fall off?

2. Who here has sat in a Summit Bullet Backpacker/Viper.....AND a Lone Wolf.....and would choose the LW over the Summit for comfort?

Interested in these responses....;)

I sometimes sit for 6+ hrs on stand. I wouldn't DREAM of sitting in a LW that long. NO WAY.

Depends on what top you choose Gmmat. I can sit in my LW sit and climb top all day. The hand-climber is ideal for shorter in and out hunts.

Just curious of how people who've used both would rank them for comfort, GR8. I sold the LW I had after 2 hunts. I wouldn't sit in that thing for more than a couple hours on a bet.

When I have to think about how long I'm gonna be in the woods......based on the stand I've chosen.....I made a poor choice.

To each his own.

I am planning on getting a LW hang-on and climbing sticks this year just to add to my arsenal but I can't imagine anything being anymore comfortable than my Viper.
