I would never ever put work before family, even if I owned my own business. I work swing shift and as bloodcreek can verify, we miss enough of our kids activities as it is. I can see where a shop owner would not want to be away from his family 3-4 night a week, but if the demand was there he could hire someone to work part time and keep the shop open.
