Default Loop question

For those hunters who use a loop. How long is your loop?

I was thinking 1/2 inch, is that enough?

All personal preference Gary.....

You just have to make sure your calipers will fit in there with your nocks.

I like mine very short......but that's probably been attributable to me shooting too long a DL.

About 3/4 on mine, I could go shorter on some nocks but it'sbetter forclearanceon my hunting arrows.

mine might be just a bit shorter but when cutting the loop string make sure u cut it 4 1/2 inches for a 1/2 inch loop. Burn each end and put string wax on it so it will set in place. youll have some extra once you get your loop tied but you need it while tieing. just cut it off and burn that end again. kinda pull it with your relese to make sure it snugs up.

Mine is as small as I can make it without interfering with the arrow nock.

As other said, as short as you can make it, about 1/2". It depends on how deep your nocks are a bit also. It is stiff using old bow string so attaching the release w/o looking is not a problem

I consider my draw length when making mine. I have 29 inch draw. My bow is set at 28 1/2 so I use a 1/2 inch loop. If your bow is set at your draw length and you add a 1/2 inch your over drawn.
