Awesome deer obviously! I don't know that I would feel particularly good about the sequence of events that led to killing it,I am not faulting the guy who shot it.
Where do I place my order for a dumb as a rock Boone and Crockett buck?
That bucks number was up on the day he was taken.

Wouldn't that be disqualified from the record books since one of the definitions of fair chase is that the animal is not trapped in any way, including on ice, etc, etc.?

Pretty amazing. I wonder what story the kid will tell everyone when he is older? How he crept up on this unsuspecting monster...

Who knows...... he did wound it before the deer got caught under the statue. Maybe he had someone pick it off the deer while he was at the ready!!??

I was about to say the same thing. Plus, to me that looks more like red paint than blood. Then again, if the deer were knocked out by the statue falling on his head, then why didn't he just shoot it through the lungs? I'll buy the deer and the rack, but the whole cement deer falling on it thing seems staged.
