Aging bucks on the hoof.....
Another good read in D&DH magazine, this month. Good article on deer mgmt. and aging deer on the hoof. Author states that a person can become proficient at this by observing deer in his woods.......print media....hunting shows......etc...
He notes a very good example as a 14 yr old who studies this a lot...and has been at it for only a couple years.
I admit to being intrigued by this and I need a reason to take my camera with me (video). I'd think it would be a good thing if we could share our videos of deer we WEREN'T planning on taking....just for this purpose. I know I'm gonna take less deer and more pictures in '08.
I've never learned how to share video....but I will.
Anyone else think this would be a good idea?

RE: Aging bucks on the hoof.....
Probably would be helpful to some but overlooked by quite a few. Not a whole lot of people really care about the age of the deer so much as the size of the rack, no matter how much they say they do.
Personally, I think it would be helpful and I would take advantage of it.
