Ft Sill hunting
#1
I am new to this site and so far I love reading all the posts and learning new things about bowhunting. I would like to share with you what some of the deer that have been taken on post. The first pic is a friend of mines buck he took on opening day, the other is one that I have seen quite a few times driving to work. I hope you all like the pics

My grampa was a civilian carpenter there at Ft Sill and built a lot of the old wooden barracks on the base. Probably most of them have been torn down and replaced by now.I had an old maid great-aunt that was a seamstress there for more than 50 years too, and my dad was a civilian aircraft mechanic. Got a lot of family ties with that place.
The deer therewere pretty tame in the 50's, even eat corn out of your hand. They were probably farm deer that'd been shipped in to establish the herd. From the looks of those pics, they seem to be established. [:-]
Thanks for stirring up some old memories.
