RE: Your thoughts.. be honest..
Even if "they" are not in abundance, you can always be proud of the larger ones for your area. There's no "excuse" given, Greg. I don't have to make them up. I have no need to. I'm proud of the deer I've taken. Read Matt's post. It's eloquently stated. If you want to bury your head in the sand.....I can't help that. p.s. Check the P&Y numbers for Iowa, Ohio, KS, MO, and TX vs. NC, SC and FL. Then tell me "location" has no bearing. No sour grapes, though. Just facts. |

ORIGINAL: FLboy77 If I told a guy were a big buck was and I had put the time and effort into it, on public land, and he came in never hunted before and killed the big buck. I would be mad because that was my deer that I found on public land. The second mistake was telling yourself that the buck was "yours". |

Look who's burrying their head in the sand, there's P&Ys in NC, you just have to find them. It's called hunting, if you want a P&Y, go get one. They're not easy though. I don't have to check out Matts post or the "books", I already did. Why do you think I'm hunting where I do? |

Greg.....Go check out my original post on this thread. I'm not saying you didn't hit a triple. I'm just saying some of us are seeing better pitching.;)

RE: Your thoughts.. be honest..
Everyone debates location butsometimes FINDING those places are just as much if not more work than the actual hunting effort itself. Then again some people are just set right in the middle of a good spot.
I know a guy that burns tanker loads of gas traveling in the off season looking for places to hunt that hold quality deer. He spends hours in the woods, roaming around looking for signs that mature buck may exist, hours pouring over ariel maps, and hours in finding land access. While technically he may live in a "big buck state", the matter of him just walking out the door and plopping in the woods is certainly not the reason he shoots good deer. More effort goes into travel and preparation to FIND a good spot, than maybe the hunting itself. |

Good thing not a catcher,:D:D:D
Jeff the thing thatintrigued me was a previous Quote in the pronghorn thread that you are using a guide because you know no one on your trip in 09, so you can not hunt unless you are in your comfort zone at home or guided? How do you expect to get one someday then? ORIGINAL: GMMAT Greg.....Go check out my original post on this thread. I'm not saying you didn't hit a triple. It only takes five seconds...It could happen to any one of us, anytime, anywhere. But you have to be out there. I am happy for whomever...
