Damn Schultzy, that was a great deer!!! Tx, glad you had a good season, you sure deserved it.

Although I shot my second largest buck this season, I've had better seasons. My Wis. bow season was slow, the Wis. gun season was almost non-existant and the turkeys were tough to come by as well.

I wouldn't trade it though.

I had a good season but not my best. Deer sightings down over 20 Percent over last year. Gun season I didn't even see a deer until the 3rd day. It isn't always about the # of deer you see or shoot it is about the time you spend doing it.

Best? Not sure about that. Overall hunting, maybe. Bowhunting? Yes. I killed a coyote, 3 does, and a nice 8. I didn't get the biggest bucks I had seen but I'm happy with what I accomplished. Sightings were up for me from last year. I went to the woods A LOT, every day before the time change, and saw a ton of deer.

My season was pretty darn good. Still haven't got the "buck of a lifetime", but each year God allows me the money, time, and good health to get out in the woods is a perfect season in my book!

This was my most trying season ever! I killed my first buck ever, rifle kill on a 7 point, lost a Doe to coyotes, tracked a Doe all night to beat the heat and found her just before sunup, unfortunately I wounded one, missed one, missed a giant, killed a late season Doe and processed her myself. It seems like I had everything happen to me this season and learned from it all!

Last year......('06)....I went into the season with NO expectations. I'd never killed a deer. I had a great season in '06 and it went off like a fairy tale (3 bucks - 1 mounted....a piebald....5 total deer with the bow .......and no blemishes).

This year....I put some pressure on myself. I had a doe mgmt goal that was a steep hill to climb. Although I achieved that goal....AND took another buck that I am havng mounted (4.5 yr old 8-pointer)....I had some things occur this year that dampened the "wow" factor. Was it "successful" (in numbers, yes.....I took nine whitetails via bow and arrow)? Sure. Was it my "best ever"? I'm still not sure.
