Wow, what an encounter to have this late in the season. Good decision even though it was a tough one to swallow. Hopefully you can get a crack at him next year.

What an experience. I had a similar situation a few years ago on a 140ish class deer, so I can only imagine what a combination of thrill/disappoinment it was on one that big.

I feel your pain, but at the end of the day,these unnerving moments iswhat makes bowhunting the exciting endeavor thatit is.

As silly as this might sound, I still can't stop thinking about the encounter. The whole thing plays over and over and over in my head. I wonder if he'd've knownthat I wasn't justa pile of snow if my bow wasn't shaking. Then who knows, he might've turned followed by a thwack!Yet again, he didn't get that big for nothing. For all I know, he was thinking... "hmmm I see a rookie over there, I'm'a go mess with him a bit." LOL

Anyway, best rush to date by a mile that's for sure! And, best hunt too as far as I'm concerened!
