do you re-use...

Thank Goodness you are not in the majority with your beliefs.
Like I said there are a lot of ways to get to town, personally I prefer riding in my Silverado vs. walking or riding a Donkey.

With all due respect, I couldn't disagree more. Pretty hard to lop your fingers offon a circular saw that isn't running, isn't it?
To me....saying that because I'm re-sing a BH....I'm using a "dull" BH is mildly insulting. I'd never do that. I know people who use BH's that need to be sharpened OUT OF THE BOX.
At 300fps......and packing almost 90#'s of KE......I'll take my chances with what I KNOW will handle the game on the receiving end.
Good luck to all.

Speedmost definitely DOESaffect cutting ability.

Since everyone seems to be into testing take a steak knife and a razor and put the smallest cut you can into your thigh or arm. You'll see which bleeds more. If for some reason you argue that it is the location of the cut with the razor that made it bleed more, test again. Keep doing so until you either pass out from lack of blood or figure it out

To say you have to shoot less than shaving sharp broadheads to test the flight that is Laziness
Carry on

Take the carbide sharpener from G5

Also....ANYONE who's been on these boards for any amount of time knows Fran (Quik) is far from "unethical". I really wonder how this conversation gets to this stuff. If he knows his "fired into a target once....or however many times" will get the job done....I give him the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he's talking about.
To the new guys....."yeah"....use new blades. When some of these guys in here tell you they're re-using a BH.....don't think they're sticking an old, dull head on the end of their hunting arrow. They just aren't SO "PC" that they say you can't re-use a head....EVER.
Use some common sense.

Guys, I thought the whole point of this post was if you ditch a broadhead into terra firma (Dirt) Roots, stones, debri, frozen ground..ect,ect....not if you tested in better conditions in a target, would you reuse the BH again on a deer as is, kind ofquestion

lets say you miss a deer/coyote/or anything else and you brand new broadhead just goes into the ground. Do you reuse the broadhead on a deer?, or do you think it would be too dull. I shoot thunderhead 100 grains.
I would tend to think it would be fine to use them on a deer.

And I answered that , too, Dan. YES.....AFTER I clean, sharpen and re-lubricate the Rage 2 blades.......I re-used them, again.
I just think we need to all use some common sense.
The sharper the better is common knowledge. Having the common sense to know your equipment will get the job done is every hunter's responsibility. I left for the woods on the last day I hunted with 4 arrows in my quiver......with 3 different BH's on the end of them. Also.....all but 2 were different lengths.
But....I had tested ALL of them and they flew true.
I had total confidence in all my gear. Just like every other day.
