I took a doe earlier this year with a broadhead I had shot into my target at least 10 times. It went thru her like nothing, and she didn't run even 30 yards. I would shoot that same BH again, but it bent after hitting a log behind the deer. It was my first archery kill, so I probably would have wound up saving the arrow anyway, no question about it now.

I would not use it until I cleaned it off good and at least touched up the blades.

i'd sharpen it then reuse it if there is no visible damagge.

thanks for all the replies....and i am going to stand by my belief that after shot in the ground once, it is still PROBABLY ok to use.....but i wont risk it on a animal....never have in 11 years of bowhunting and never will

i have a broadhead that i have used on 3 deer without changing or sharpening the blades and they are muzzy's

I never re-use my broadheads, muzzy 100grain 3 blade fixed. I have toyed with the idea of sharpening up my blades, etc, but since I only shoot 1 or 2 at the most per year, I just buy new ones every now and then. It really isn't that much money, compared to everything else, and I never have to worry about it.

Have you every cut meat with a knife that isn't sharp? There is a huge difference. And those arteries have thick walls.

Replace the blades! Your broadhead isn't gonna be razor sharp after shooting it into the dirt.

Using a broadhead over without changing blades or resharpening is wrong on so many levels. You were LUCKY!
