Yep, once I got shot in the back of the head by a Red Ryder BB gun by my best friend(we were ten years old). Just young and stupid, thank God he didn't shoot my eye out!

My second time I got shot in the calf with a .22; the kid was about fifteen and I was nineteen at the time (I am currently 22). I was guiding exotics hunts that summer in the hill country and he was with his dad at the gun range on the ranch. I was sitting at the shooting bench with his dad. Well the kid pulls a loaded .22 out of his dads truck and go figure the safety was off. Long story short, the gun went off and the bullet hit me in the calf. Didn't even realize it for about fifteen seconds. It didn't really hurt either. Didn't get any stitches, doc said I would be fine.

Yep, thats the day I decided to stop guiding hunts and go back to college.

While hunting..

seen no less than 100 yotes (in 12 years) only killed 5.
seen 2 booners
seen a hawk kill a barn cat (what a scream that was).
had a bullet zip past me at less than 10 feet.
have lost a knife, a grunt call, glove, release, range finder, and car keys.
seen a bobcat in the suburbs of Chi-town
have had roosting turkeys above my head (same tree) twice.
have had a raccoon above my head in same tree (he wouldn't get down).
had a squirrel on my stand.
was followed by like 5 or 6 yotes all the way back to my vehicle (that was wild).
missed more bucks than I care to admit.
stalked no less than 5 deer to within 20 yards. (shot and killed only one I shot at).
met some good folks.
met some real a**holes. Not many.
filmed a buddy take a doe.
have been filmed by buddy taking a doe.
have watched the sun rise 1,000 times and it still never gets old.

Well yes and no. I broke the arrow trying to kick him off my boot[:@] But we ate that little SOB in some squirrel roast:D

Had many people walk around the field I was hunting without knowing I was there
Shot 2 deer of the ground
Shot rabbits with my bow
Shot squirrels with my bow
Sat all day during the rut and not see a deer
Had a 150 class buck within 50 yards 3 times and he evaded me 3 times
Rattled bucks in
Grunted bucks in
Bleated does in
Fawn bleated fawns in
Had a skunk under my stand 2 times this year right when I was about to get down
Had a skunk come within 5 yards as I was on the ground scouting, never knew I was there
Seen bald eagles
Seen a black bear
Had a fox come under (directly under) me twice, each time the season was closed
Have witnessed 55 deer in a field at one time, I have a picture to prove it
Seen cats
Seen dogs
Seen roosters
Heard wolves on stand upnorth
Had a pair of yotes follow me back to my truck while I was draging a doe back. Would have shot them if I had my rifle. Too far for a bow.

Im sure I'll think of a few more later.

Hunting related...

I've had bear within 3" of me in my tree, there foot was on my stand on 2 different occasions.
I've got pics of one bear on my cudde which I believe has a 22" to 23" skull!
I've found bear tracks up where we bear hunt that were 6 3/4" wide (Front foot)
I've seen 5 possible booner bucks while bow hunting through out the years, biggest was in the 190" class.
Fell in a spear hole in -30 below temps while moving the fish house.
I've met some of the past presidents of the P@Y club, some of whom I talk with every P@Y convention, some I could care less about!
I've wounded 1 animal in the 21 years I've bow hunted, hit a bear in the foot.

****25 years ago I had my climber descend the tree without me ....hung there until I was able to burn through my safety belt with my cigarette lighter .... I smoked at the time ...... there is the exception to the rule ... smoking saved my life ;)almost passed out, if I would have, I may not be here today ...

***** HAd a raccoon in my tree ... I found this out when it got light outside .... he was none to happy .... hissing and edging towards me ...

***** I have had countless birds land on me and squirrels crawl up my tree to within a few inches ....

***** watched a guy shoot my beagle while we were rabbit hunting .... he was ok after a few weeks ...

***** got bored one day and shot a squirrel with a broadhead, chunking of a piece of his skin .... I went to get him, and as I was coming back, here comes the biggest buck I have seen in those woods walking a mere 20 feet from where my stand was, broadside ... all I could do was watch him walk by, as the shot from the ground was not clear [:@]

***** Squirrels everywhere on crunchy leaves ... I heara "squirrel"from behind me ... turns out to be a grey HUGE 10 pointer ... walks right under my stand ... I couldn't get ready quick enough

**** so many more ....
