Default Hey Mobow

Did you get to try out your new "scent-eliminating" clothes this season? I seem to recall you stating you were going to purchase some base-layersto try out. I am not naming manufacturers for fear of starting a great debate. I remember what the Name Brand was, and I am just curious to your thoughts/experiences on it's effectiveness.

Again, this is a legit question. Not in any way tring to start a bashing thread mobow.

Thanks, LT

Sorry bro......I was watching a movie.....my bad.

Yes, I bought it and used it a lot. I ain't skeered, I'll name names....I bought the scent lok base slayers and a suit of Savannah. I got the 6 pocket pants and the mock Tshirt. I also got a headcover in each.

I used the base slayers NEARLY every trip out. I didn't wear the savannah each trip, but probably about half. It works VERY well as a layer. I did wear it as an outer layer a couple times in the early season, as it was just too hot for my Enigma.

I was wearing the base slayer when I shot my buck, but not the savannah. Scent control was a moot point w/ him, he was upwind the entire time and never knew what hit him.

Now, the doe I shot a week later on the other hand....I was wearing both the base and savannah, and she was downwind of me for a few minutes before I ventilated her. Was it the scentlok? Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't know. I started using Dead Down Wind last season, and had deer down wind several times w/out alerting them.

And on top of that, I shot both of them early in November, and just haven't been out much since. I've only hunted about 1/4 of the time I normally do this year, so I didn't get to test it as much as I wanted to. BUT, I can tell you this.....I WILL be ordering a suit of Full Season for next fall.

Shameless plug for Enigma.....THAT was the deciding factor in taking my buck this year. He looked up at me from 18 yards and never had a clue I was there. Man, I sure hope Chuck can get the 3D stuff going....I've ordered a suit of G2 already.

The base slayers are simply AWESOME! Carbon or no carbon, they are incredibly comfortable, cool when it's warm and warm when it's cool. I would own a set of that irregardless of the carbon, period. It is simply THE most comfortable base layer I've ever used. Bar none.

mobow, that is exactly what I wanted to hear about the baselayers. I have been considering these strongly for next season. I will purchase them now.

About the Enigma, yeah, I keep holding my breath waiting for the 3D to come out. All the positive comments on the G2 pattern is great. I just think the wolfskin is going to be too hot for my early/mid season hunts. I am really enjoying my Predator Fall Grey. I have enough of that stuff to get me through the season cold or hot. The Enigma 3D will be on my list though when and if it ever gets created.

Thanks for the response mobow.

GMMAT: That is hilarious stuff right there. Next thing you know, HCH will be in Full Season ScentLok.

I'm not sure what more to say......It breathes very well, it's warm, keeps you dry......I don't think I would wear it if it was really warm out, say.....over 75 degrees, but when it got down in the 60's I wore that under my Wolfskin Enigma and was quite comfortable. I don't get nearly the cold weather ya'll get up north, so I couldn't say how it would perform there, but it's just really, really comfortable.

LMAO I read it wrong, I thought he was refering to his outer layer staying warm and cool.
