I tend to agree with Fork Horn it is little deceiving; whereas I perceive the ears to be pointing slightly to the rear, thus making the inside spread appear to show the spread to be greater from the ends of the ears than if the ears were straight to the sides.

A feature taxidermist often use to best display a bucks rack.

If that's a 6 pointer, I would consider it a cull deer. Nice spread 18" I would say as well.

18-20". looks like a great buck to keep from breeding!
