In many states it would be illegal to kill a dog even on your property,a dog is considered private property. Talk to the adults first,if that doesn't help then get the DNR involved.

I would employ the use of a video camera. Film the dogs on your property (that will not injure them). Use the footage as evidence. Make sure the dog's owners see the footage. I would certainly give them a chance to make what is wrong right (I, too, do not believe it is the dogs fault. It is also the neighborly thing to do). If that doesn't work, the county sheriff will certainly love the footage when "dog at large" charges are filed.

trust me BB guns work for conditioning. I absolutely hate cats but one day a little gray and white one showed up at our house and to make a long sotry short we adopted him. Hes an outside cat and one night i heard screaming out my window. I grab my bb gun( i was about 10 then.) and look out my window to see a big black cat beating the crap out of my cat. So i pumped the gun 20 times(i had heard on tv if you pump it 20 times it will be as powerful has a shot gun bb haha so of course thats what i did) and shot it. Haha the dang thing flew about 5 feet in the air and i never saw it again. Thats what it gets for messing with my cat who was the runt of the litter.

No dprsdhunter, I don't have problems with all my neighbors. The guy who runs coyote dogs on the property to the East is a nice old fart. The people to the southwest of me are very nice people. The people across the road to the North are friendly too. I only have problems with the people who poach & trespass, and people who let their pets run amok. If you took all you had saved over the years and invested it all into what was your dream and others had disregard for what is yours, I bet you'd have a problem too.

I think a BB gunis a good idea. No need to pump it 20 times, just enough to sting pretty good. Or a paintball gun. Just condition them, no need to injure them.

I don't think I could shoot a dog. I would try something other than that!

Had me a Dog named Porky when I was a kid, named after porky pig. He was an ugly dog, his teeth were crooked and stuck outside his mouth, but he was the best hunting dog you ever seen, he was my protector and my best friend.
Dad dropped me and porky of at the old fishing hole one day and we jumped a rabbit on the way to our spot, Porky cut out after him doing what he was born to do, "HUNT". To make a long story short the farmer that owned the property next to the fishing hole shot and killed my best friend.
Well God punished that farmer, because shortly after he killed my buddy his barn burnt to the ground, He built a new one and it burnt to the ground also.
It was a shame, about Porky I mean.
The dogs are just doing what they do, call the law on the neighbors ever time they get on your property, they will get tierd of picking them up or paying a fine and either get rid of them or keep them locked up better. Its not the dogs fault!
You dont want God to set your place on fire.

Are you sure it was God whodid it?

I have no problem shooting a stray or wild dog, but find it difficult to shoot someones pet or someones hunting dog.
