i feel your pain. I left my bow in the dinning room over night(no one but be and my parents live in the house now that everyone is off to college or live on there own) and the next morning i go grab my bow..what do i see? my peep sight was off the string and my whisker biscuit was loosend and hanging. to say the least i start yelling at my sister (who was home from college) and telling her to not touch my $600 bow with out asking. She said she never touched it but i didnt believe her. I guess i should have because i called my brother and he was like" yah sorry about that, i pulled it back and it slipped out of my fingers". I was so pissed i couldnt think straight. I was on the edge of going to his house and dry firing the hell out of his bow but i decided not too. Atleast nothing was broken on mine, just needed to put the peep back in, and tighen the whisker.

You know I dry fired my PSE Mohave once. And it survived. I had one axle slighly out of round. But shot fine. I had a hard time selling that bow. And ended up selling bow, case arrows, new string/cable, and tuned and arrows for $180. But I also thought about doing a test to see how many dry fires it would take before something went terribly wrong.

I wonder why these new bows cannot survive a dry fire at all. The cams on the new bows are so much lighter and (cheap feeling) than the older bows.

Wouldn't it be nice is the ATA's standard was a bow could survive one dry fire. But I bet that bow would wiegh 6lbs or more.

Look at the bright side. Now you can go buy a real bow!

My xt got dry fired.

The string broke, nothing else was damaged.

Take your limbs off and check them out real good for splinters. Take your limb bolts out and roll them across a table to see if their bent. Look at your cam real good to see it its bent.

I have heard of risers bending when dry fired, (don't know if thats possible), check that out as well.

There's a reason their called LIMB SAVERS.Does it help a dry fire? Don't know. I had them on my bow it was a ok. Good luck to ya.

Actually Limb Saver refers to your arm.

That Mohave was shooting a 360gr arrow combo at 286fps. Not a screamer, but right up there with most bows. My Commander will shoot same arrow 298fps, and my bowtech liberty will shoot it 280fps.

The mohave was 8 years old, the rest are less than 2.

Go to a bow shop and pick up an older cam, and then ask to see a new one from say a bowtech allegience. You can feel the difference. I couldn't believe how weak the 06 allegence binary cams were. No wonder they had to quickly redesign to beef up that one thin spot that was warping..

Hoyt claims that their new Katera has been dry fired 1500 times...
