Whatever season is in determines what weapon I use. I enjoy both rifle, ML and bow hunting for different reasons.

Here in Virginia, a lot of regs/seasons are divided by the Blue Ridge Mts and also within certain counties. So, I always head west to the other side of the Blue Ridge to my deer camp (i.e. get away from the deer hounds which run amok east of the Blue Ridge - but that's another thread... [&o] ).

Archery season --- compound bow.
Muzzleloader season --- compound bow.
General firearms season --- rifle, maybe shotgun w/buckshot, but 90% of the time - rifle.
Late Archery season --- compound bow.

I'm not about to limit myself to a single weapon, and I seriously doubt that I'll ever like a bow enough to do that anyway.

I started bowhunting for deer about 15 years ago after a friend of mine got me into it. I live and hunt in a bow only county so my decision is kind of made for me. The county 2 miles away has a shotgun season yet if I hunt there I use the bow. I dont really need the meat so filling the freezer is not mandatory. I just get such a kick out of bowhunting that I've never even thought of using a gun. No problem with others doing it though.

Been bow only for the last 3 seasons. Do not think I will ever go back to gun hunting.

I've taken a couple turkeys.....before I started bowhunting via shotgun. Since I started bowhunting.....I don't seeme ever taking another turkey with a gun.

I see me buying a ML sometime in the future. What I choose to pursue with it.....I don't know. Maybe predators. Maybe something weird like a wolf. I'd like to do soemthing like that one day.

My only rifle is .22 cal so... my bow is my only weapon for now. but i think i will only start rifle hunting to fill the freezer when archery season isn't successful:D.

Bow only for me an has been for about 13 years now.
