That sucks. You should be able to talk to the DNR to get replacement tags BEFORE you go hunting. I guess Christmas is going to come a little later for you this year...and your son probably won't be getting much for Christmas next year! I'm sure it was an honest mistake and it can happen to anyone, but it better not happen to me!

Hatched Jack, that does bite! But not all may be lost. Check to see if your homeowners insurance may cover it. As far fetched as it sounds, you never know unless u check it out. Just some food for thought.

Sorry for your loss, huge bummer. Here's a tip:invest an extra ten bucks for one of those plastic bins for your expensive clothes. If you want to go $25, you can get a "foot locker" with hinged lid, ventilation, handles....

I'd still bag 'em before putting them in a bin as the bins aren't air-tight. Just my .02.

I'm going to agree with "Waiting for a Gift" about you buying the clear plastic bins to store your clothes in then at least someone will know that there is valuables in there instead of trash!

Sorry to hear about your loss Hatchet Jack.....just thinking about it is enough to make one sick and depressed! [&:]

We would always put loose paper or trash in the small plastic Wal-Mart bags then set it by the front door for me to take out and burn in the trash barrel...well one day I hauled off some new items and the Wife's cell phone in one of those bags and I burned it in our Burn Barrel! ...had to buy a new phone for the Wife! Note to self: Buy CLEAR garbage bags to store hunting gear in, not black!
That sucks!!!!!! I keep all my hunting Clothes in the green Scent Free zippered bags! They are like $25.00 and well worth the money as you just learned! Plus you can carry your stuff to you stand on the warm early season so you don't get them all sweated up!

Man........ that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
