I have seen that once in VT. about 40 yrs. ago, and that "doe" was a spikehorn.

hmm... iwonder if the owner has been feeding his dear supplemental feeding possibley with hormones or other chemicals to increase antler growth of his bucks.....

i would bet that this deer is male "Xy" or could be "XXy" and just did not has his testicles drop...if you look in the face of the deer and coloration it looks more like a "male" deer then a femal deer....could be explained if he was "XXy" .....
regardless.......very cool....

The testicles may be up in the pelvis. Occassionally, this happens to male babies; the testes don't drop down during gestation and although they're male and have testosterone in the blood stream, the testes are not visibleneed to be surgically brought down to the correct anatomical position.
Maybe, the same congential abnormality happend here?

Since it has evidence of fighting and polished antlers (signs of testosterone) I'd go with the pseudohermaphrodite theory. Very interesting.

Wow, what makes it more odd to me is how typical of a rack it has. Most of the antlered does that I have ever seen in pictures have weird non-typical antlers.
