I live and hunt in Southern Indiana and most years we are covered up with big bucks. This fall we had one of the slowest and most dissappointing seasons I can remember. I have some great hunting ground and spend at least 40 days a year in a treestand with my bow. The local DNR folks say we got hit real hard with EHD this summer. Anybody out there had any experience with a herd that got hit by EHD? Did your deer herd bounce back?

Yep the locals figure we lost about 50% of the big bucks and does where we hunt in southern Illinois. The guy that was working on the farm we hunt owns 40 acres behind our farm and said he found 5 bucks around his pond that would go from 150-170.. Walt

I do most of my hungting in Pike County Indiana and we normally would see 20-30 a day, this year the most we seen a day was 9. 3 of us hunt this one woods and one of us did kill a very nice 10 pointer close to 160" he hasn't got it scored yet. I seen that deer the day before he killed it. And I have only seen 3 other "shooter" bucks. But I am still at it with the muzzleloader.
