Great Post! I thought the same thing about that young man.

Looks like the boy's a chip off the old block. He can't be more than 10 yet in a situation no 10yr old should be subjected to, his back is straight and his head is up. That's a man of men in the making.

The picture sent chills down my spine. I almost cried. Then the anger set in. Sometimes when I see things like this I want to grab a gun and fly east. I 'm not a vengeful person , but it's not right to for a child to loose his or her father or mother...for any reason.
I support our troops and what we are attempting to do, but........

I come from a family of soldiers, my father served in Korea for three years as a front line combat infantryman, earned two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars and a Silver Star for valor.
I would have joined as well had I not received a scholarship to play football. In fact after I was released from the NFL (couldn't pass the NFL physical anymore)I tried to enlist but I couldn't pass their physical either. I guess you need to have all the feeling in your leg and actually be able to move your toes.[&:]
I have the utmost respect for those who serve on our armed forces and photos like that just tear my heart out. God bless ALL who serve and have served as well as their families.

I was always fortunate enough to have my dad come home from over seas when I was growing up. He spent 21 years in the navy and was gone most of my life but I have to say Thank You Dad for everything.. I cant begin to imagine what that little man was going through. Thank you to all our soldiers, veterans, thoes lost, but never forgotten. All gave some, some gave all.

That pic really makes you realize how LUCKY we are!!! We get to go out hunting/fishing and to enjoy our families. Many do not get that luxury. Too many never will again!!
I served in the Navy for 8 yrs as a Navy Hospital Corpsman. I got lucky, I missed everything. Many of my family has served. My father-in-law is in a wheelchair from Vietnam.
To everyone who has served THANK YOU!!!
And to those who support them: THANK YOU AS WELL!!
