So... Jeff says that he would rather flosshis neighbors cat's teeth than hunt with a rifle. Forgive me, but I don't see what's the big deal. I would rather floss Jeff's teeth than go to a 3d shoot. I don't like grocery shopping either. So kill me. I think 3d is pointless, and Walmart makes my skin crawl. I can see how you can disagree - but I don't understand howhis statement (or mine) makes him some kind of villain. Just telling you what he thinks. Nothing more.

So what if it's elitist?Point is, it shouldn't bother you.I mean, we know that your feelings are fragile and all...but everybody here is a big boy, and y'all should be able to handle it.
RESPECT!

Sorry for bumping this but that needed a respect. And after what Frans done to me in the past, that means something here.

Idon't think it's wrong to take pride in bow hunting or any other type of hunting, in fact I think it's a good thing. Where I have a problem is when one group thinks their form of hunting is superior therefore indirectly suggesting that they are superior hunters for pursuing that type of hunting.

It's been myobservation, that most of this attitude comes from those who limit themselves to one particular form of hunting (bow hunting in this case), or have not been at it for too long, or are young. It seems that those whodon't have aclue about the other forms are the ones who are the most outspoken.

That's when it stops being pride andstarts to reekof elitism.[:'(]Unfortunately such is human nature to want to be the best at what they do. The problem is, a lot of folks would rather try to drive home this point by belittling the other forms of hunting instead of being stalwarts of their form of hunting.

I hate to say it folks because I do love bow hunting but I see it FAR more from bow hunters than ANY other hunter sub group. Again, just my observations.

As for me....I take just pride in being a hunter, plain and simple.

Heck, I've done all I could to stay away from her for all these years.Although, if she did want to "hunt me down" it probably wouldn't be to difficult given her expert tracking capabilities.

As far as the "bow vs gun" thing being brought up, I only hear it either in the Pro-shops I go to or here on this web site. When I talk to my hunting buddies it's never an issue.

In fact there are a lot of them who will talk about a certain bucks and trying to get onthem right through the different weapon seasons never giving much thought to what they use to kill them rather than simply getting an opportunity to get a shot,Like yousaid...."As it should be"

This is a BOWHUNTING forum! If a guy can't poke fun (HARMLESS) at a gun hunter in a bowhunting forum.....then what's next? Dogs and cats living together?
Interesting analogy.

Im very proud to be calleda hunter in general, not only do I bow hunt, I muzzle load hunt, and rifle hunt. I take pride in all that I do in the field, and every harvest is a proud moment for me. I was raised a sportsman and will pass that down to my children so they can know the feeling that I feel everytime I step into the woods.

If anyone ever thought I was putting down gun hunters.....then they made their own conclusions. That isn't the case.

Never forget.....we're in a BOWHUNTING forum. It would be like being in the Red Sox forum on MLB and ONLY being able ot say nice things about baseball, in general....and never being able to make a jab at the yankees. BORING.

I don't go to the gun forum.....EVER. Nothing against it (Obligatory statement)....just not my bag.

I recall some people telling me that this forum didn't used to be this way. ANY gun harvest was yanked as soon as it was posted.....and berated until it was. Now ....you can't even poke fun at the practice (light-hearted and non-defamatory). Heck my MINISTER told a baptist joke in Church the other day. You think he doesn't love all Christians?

I think we have some Francis's that need to lighten up. ("Stripes" reference......DEAR GOD don't blow a gasket!)

I'd Say im a PROUD bowhunter simply because i can choose Bowhunting over any of my other hunting i love my predator hunting and my thunder chicken hunting along with regular rifle season, but i love them all for different reasons, but my passion that is Bowhunting reigns supreme over all of the other types of hunting i do.
